 The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday Oct 28th at 7:00 P.M. at the Brighton arena. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Posted Oct 20/09 - Applefest Dance

The Applefest dance was held on Sept. 26th and is one of the BDMHA's largest fund-raising events each year. BDMHA would like to thank all those who attended and volunteered at the event.

Posted Sep 21/09 - Player Registration up again:

 The number of kids playing in Brighton has jumped by over 40 this year. At last count the number of players in the system this year has topped 253. BDMHA welcomes all the new players, new coaches, new executives, new sponsors, new volunteers, and new spectators. This year is shaping up to be very exciting.

 In an effort to make you and your children's hockey experience more enjoyable, the Brighton & District Minor Hockey Association is proud to introduce its new Web Site. Take time to browse around and enjoy the new features we have to offer.

Posted Sept 1/09 - Now that's one tough team:

 The Brighton Atom local league team 2 might not be a fighting bunch, but their sponsor sure is. United States Marines Inc. has  sponsored the team this year. Located in Gulf Port, Mississippi, U.S.M.I. was excited to sponsor a hockey team, a first for them, and a first for us. Don't mess with this team.

We have not published the entire BDMHA constitution the sections below capture the essence of our association.

Article 3: Purpose 3.1 To promote, organize, supervise, and govern minor hockey for children and young adults up to and including juvenile division. 3.2 To promote fellowship, teach respect for rules and authority and help children and young adults become good citizens. 3.3 To carry out competitions for championships. 3.4 To increase the individual knowledge of hockey and good sportsmanship by coaching, managing and general supervision. 3.5 To encourage leadership in coordinating and correlating such activities as will offer improved sportsmanship in our community. 3.6 To interest more people both as participants and as members and promote the interest of the hockey community. 3.7 To promote hockey not necessarily for the best but for the greatest number of participants. 3.8 To train and organize both coaches and referees for the improvement of the game of hockey. 3.9 To ensure that hockey does not interfere with a players’ progress at school.
